As UK Natural Capital Trading Manager, you will take a lead role in helping shape and drive Great Yellow’s commercial strategy in the UK — connecting high-quality, nature-based projects with credible corporate and institutional buyers of carbon, biodiversity, and water credits.

About the job

This is a strategic commercial role suited to someone who combines deep relationship-building skills with a strong understanding of emerging natural capital markets. You will manage the full commercial cycle, from identifying and qualifying leads to structuring and closing transactions, while working closely with a senior team of market builders and capital raisers. — while helping to define how Great Yellow positions itself in this rapidly evolving space.

You will work closely with senior leadership, capital raisers, and technical teams to expand Great Yellow’s market presence, accelerate revenue growth, and play a key role in building the business case for investment in nature.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Buyer Engagement

  • Take ownership of developing and managing a pipeline of UK buyers across carbon, biodiversity, and water markets, including corporates, utilities, platforms, and intermediaries.

  • Lead and negotiate end-to-end commercial transactions, ensuring alignment between financial, environmental, and reputational objectives.

  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales materials, impact reports, and presentations that communicate the value, integrity, and outcomes of Great Yellow’s projects.

  • Ensure robust buyer due diligence and transparent deal documentation, aligning financial and environmental objectives.

  • Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline of opportunities aligned with Great Yellow’s growth and impact goals.

Market Development

  • Partner with the senior team on deal structuring, pricing, and market development for nature-based credit sales and offtakes.

  • Monitor and interpret market trends, policy shifts, and buyer insights across carbon, biodiversity, and water markets.

  • Collaborate with the Capital Raising, Services, and Platform teams to align project pipeline with evolving buyer demand.

Team Contribution

  • Be a founding member of the GY revenue team, helping establish our trading systems, reporting processes, and client engagement best practices.

  • Represent Great Yellow at industry events, buyer forums, and market collaborations to build visibility and credibility.

  • Mentor and support junior team members as the commercial team scales, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing culture.

About you

  • 6–10 years’ experience in sales, trading, or market development, ideally in carbon, sustainability, or environmental finance sectors

  • Proven track record in structuring and closing complex commercial deals, preferably in early or emerging markets.

  • Strong understanding of or appetite to learn the voluntary carbon, biodiversity, and water markets, and how they intersect within natural capital.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and presentation skills, with experience engaging senior-level buyers and partners.

  • Strategic thinker with a data-informed, solutions-oriented approach to commercial decision-making.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset — comfortable in a fast-moving, collaborative startup where structure is evolving and ideas shape action.

  • Passion for climate, water, and nature restoration, and for building the market infrastructure that enables them.
